Perfect Biz Match provides a road map to help managers navigate in today's complex and challenging business environment and steer their organizations on a path to success. It is based on these three practical concepts:

First, it is only through a cogent and sober analysis of the market that any organization can learn how to survive and succeed in it.

Second, what we call "the market" in the early 21st century is actually four separate but interactive market environments: the kingdom, the battleground, the jungle, and the frontier. Each environment has its own unique dynamics, which create a self-organizing structure with its own rules, requirements, players, and style of competition.

Third, just as most products and services need to be designed around customer requirements and desires, a successful company needs to be organized around the demands of the market environment in which it seeks to compete. It is not enough to simply design a marketing strategy around your market; your entire organization itself must have a structure, a culture, and a set of internal systems that suit its market environment.

At the heart of Perfect Biz Match is a single simple principle: when an organization has the appropriate organizational structure for its market environment, a synergy is created that deeply supports and empowers the organization, its management, and its work force.

While this alignment is crucial, it is not a panacea. Each organization needs to examine itself and its market on an ongoing basis - and to continue to adapt as necessary. Nevertheless, once this basic alignment is in place, this adaptation becomes manageable, controllable, and largely predictable through management's normal, intelligent efforts.
